Idaho Botanical Garden's executive director stepping down; nationwide search underway

March 7, 2014

The Idaho Botanical Garden is saying farewell to Executive Eirector Julia Rundberg, who has led the garden's operations for the past eight years. The Idaho Botanical Garden is conducting a national search to hire here replacement.

Rundberg will become manager of the City Club of Boise.

Her achievements at IBG include doubling the organization’s operating budget and completing a comprehensive strategic plan. Those changes have led to new events and garden displays for the community, including the Children’s Adventure Garden and the popular Outlaw Field Summer Concert Series. Guest admission has grown from 60,000 to more than 140,000 annually.

The garden and its staffers invite the public to say goodbye to Rundberg and thank her for her service during National Public Gardens Day on May 2. Garden entrance is free that day.

The Idaho Botanical Garden is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. It’s located in the Old Penitentiary Historic District at 2355 Old Penitentiary Road in Boise. For more information, call 343-8649 or visit
