Letter: President Obama

March 6, 2014

While President Obama reaches for his pen with good intentions for everyone (except for the rich, et al), I will take umbrage as C.S. Lewis did when he penned these words.

“Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. I would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies.”

Notwithstanding that President Obama is dismissive of constitutional limits to the executive branch, a proven prevaricator, a continuing foreign relations disaster, and one of the most divisive among all American presidents, I believe his greatest legacies will be his politically driven suppression of individual initiative and responsibility for one’s actions.

Every politician who has not and will not speak out against these tyrannies should be made to own them at their next election.
