Idaho colleges roundup: College of Idaho women’s basketball coach Reagan Rossi resigns

CALDWELL — Reagan Rossi will assume full-time duties as associate athletic director, the school announced Tuesday. In 13 seasons, Rossi led the Coyotes to Cascade Conference regular-season titles in 2009 and 2010, making 13 consecutive appearances in the Cascade Conference Tournament, including winning the 2010 and 2012 tournament titles. The C of I also made five NAIA Division II national tournament appearances in that time. Rossi finishes her career with an overall record of 246-153. Assistant coach Mark Owen will take over the head coaching position in July. Owen, a C of I grad and member of the school’s Athletic Hall of Fame, served as the men’s basketball head coach from 2000-10, winning 185 games and leading the Coyotes to five NAIA Division II national tournaments, including a trip to the national quarterfinals in 2001.

NORTHWEST NAZARENE WOMEN’S BASKETBALL: Megan Hingston was named First Team All-GNAC, while Chelsie Luke (Meridian High) was an honorable mention selection.

BOISE STATE MEN’S GOLF: The Broncos finished eighth (26-over 890) at the Sacramento State Invitational in California with two golfers in the top 20 — Logan France (1-over 217) tied for ninth place, and David Elliot (222) tied for 20th.

BSU WOMEN’S GOLF: The Broncos took 10th (38-over 902) at the Juli Inkster Spartan Invitational in San Jose, Calif. Sammie Pless (6-over 222) tied for 13th, and Samantha Martin (223) tied for 17th.

NNU MEN’S GOLF: Ian Briske tied for 21st with a 16-over 232 as the Crusaders finished 11th (77-over 941) at the Tim Tierney Pioneer Shootout in Vallejo, Calif.
