Letter: Otter comments

March 5, 2014

I am greatly relieved that Idaho’s anti-gay reputation isn’t hurting business (Feb. 12). Whew! Is Otter kidding? That’s his bottom line? What about doing what is right?

Let’s see. Rights for business, i.e. low taxes and minimal regulation. Check. Rights for gun people, check. Now we must have rights for religious people who don’t feel comfortable baking cakes for two human beings in love. Check.

What about rights and freedoms for our LGBT community? If Gov. Otter is only concerned with the business community, maybe he should let someone who cares about all Idaho’s citizens govern. He can be a businessman.
