After finishing the Eighth & Main building this year, the Gardner Co. is now fully into the planning phase of its next big Downtown Boise project: City Center Plaza.
Tonight, the City Council will hear details about Gardner's plans for the project, which would include a nine-story, 206,000-square-foot building just west of the U.S. Bank tower south of Main Street between 8th Street and Capitol Boulevard. Clearwater Analytics, which does web-based reporting, accounting and analytics for clients around the world, plans to partner with Gardner on that building, which would be called the Clearwater Building.
Gardner also plans to build a several-story building just south of the tower. The south building would have convention space for the Greater Boise Auditorium District, which would pay for its construction space. There are spaces for several restaurants on the ground floor of City Center Plaza.
Another ambitious goal for Gardner's new project is a transit center that would become a hub for Valley Regional Transit, the Treasure Valley's public transportation authority.
Gardner hopes to break ground on the project this spring or summer.
