Local colleges: Four Broncos honored on MW indoor track and field squad

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — The Boise State athletes named to the All-Mountain West team are Ryan Sanders (triple jump), Roderick Townsend (triple jump), Hayli Bozarth (shot put, weight throw) and Mackenzie Flannigan (60 meters, 200).

BSU WOMEN’S GOLF: Sophomore Sammie Pless fired rounds of 74-73 and is tied for eighth after two rounds of the Juli Inkster Spartan Invitational at the par-72 Almaden Golf Club in San Jose, Calif. She is five strokes off the lead, while Boise State is 11th, 21 strokes behind leader Oregon going into Tuesday’s final round.

BSU MEN’S GOLF: Sophomore Logan France is tied for 13th after the first day of the Sacramento State Invitational. France carded rounds of 72-74 at the par-72 Valley Hi Country Club, and is six strokes off the lead. Boise State is seventh as a team going into the final round.

NORTHWEST NAZARENE MEN’S BASKETBALL: Guard Michael Loomis is the GNAC freshman of the year (12.2 ppg, 90.9 percent free throw shooter, 39.9 shooting from 3-point range). Senior guard Mario Donaldson and junior forward Kevin Rima were named to the GNAC honorable mention team.
