Tia Wiese holds an apparent record-setting perch that the Eagle resident caught at Lake Cascade.

Eagle resident Tia Wiese landed a perch that weighs 2 pounds 11.68 ounces while fishing at Lake Cascade. The fish measured 15.75 inches with a girth of 12.75 inches.

The statistics were reported by Tackle Tom's in Cascade.

Idaho Fish and Game must certify the record before it becomes official.

Luke Spaete of Boise broke the old state record perch on Feb. 15 with a 2 pound, 11 ounce perch. Before Spaete’s fish, the old record had stood for 38 years, but was tied once.

Coincidentally, Gary Wiese, Tia’s father, also broke the old state record a day after Spaete, but his fish was smaller than Spaete’s.
