Spring showers come early to Boise — soggy day, weekend ahead

February 27, 2014

After three balmy, dry days in Boise — with highs reaching 59 degrees — the big spigot in the sky is opening up Thursday. Spring is just a few weeks away, and we're getting a taste of it early.

Thursday is going to be overcast and rainy, with showers on and off all day, according to the National Weather Service. The high will be about 54 degrees.

Friday will be cloudy, and showers will be back in the evening. There could be heavy rain by midnight, a meteorologist said.

Is it clearing up for the weekend? Sorry, no.

Saturday will be rainy, and Sunday won't be much drier. The highs over the weekend will be in the low 50s.

The mountains will get a mix of rain and snow. McCall is expected to get about 2 to 3 inches by Sunday, while Bogus may get up to 6 inches at the top and an inch or two at the base.

Reminder: Daylight Saving Time starts Sunday, March 9.
