Letter: Governor won’t be judge

February 27, 2014

Kudos to Kathy Haley in her letter (Feb. 14) about our governor, who is running for a third term (two-term limit in most states). Why don’t we deny rights to man-and-wife domestic partners who are adulterers? This is why we have separation of church and state.

If the governor believes someone is sinning by living with a same-sex partner, they will be judged by God, not by him.

I hope this goes to the Supreme Court where he should be required to explain his reasons for denying same-sex domestic partners the tax benefits he offers to opposite-sex domestic partners and sinners.

The governor may think he is God, but he is not. I hope we get a new governor with an open mind.
