Letter: Animal rights extremists

February 26, 2014

As a native Idahoan from a sixth-generation Idaho family, I applaud Sen. Jim Patrick's fight against urban-based radical animal rights extremism. What I and many other multigenerational Idaho families are disturbed and concerned about is that an animal rights activist would rather videotape and highly edit video for media coverage than immediately helping the poor animal in the first place. The true and well-documented agenda of these extremist groups is a complete end to meat and animal byproduct use and consumption, as well as the criminalization of hunting and many other Idaho outdoor activities.

Time to tell out-of-state animal rights extremists they are not welcome in Idaho. We beat them with Idaho's constitutional right-to-hunt bill. Time to deal these extremists another loss.
