Idaho colleges roundup: College of Idaho men's basketball wins in a romp

CALDWELL - Six Coyotes scored in double figures as the C of I rolled to a 114-61 win over Evergreen on Friday night. It was the 11th straight win for the fifth-ranked Coyotes (24-5, 15-2 Cascade Conference), who improved to 13-0 at home this season.

C OF I SOFTBALL: Nickayla Skinner tossed a one-hit shutout as the Coyotes defeated Great Falls 7-0 in Caldwell. The C of I later beat British Columbia 4-3 to improve to 4-3.

C OF I BASEBALL: The Coyotes opened their home schedule with a 6-5 win over Whitworth in Caldwell. Sam Johnston had two RBIs for the C of I (5-4).

C OF I WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: Evergreen State defeated the Coyotes 73-69 in Caldwell. Erica Martinez led the C of I (14-11, 11-6 CCC) with 18 points.

C OF I SKIING: The women's team sits in fourth place and the men in 15th at the USCSA Regionals in Brundage. Competition concludes Saturday.

NORTHWEST NAZARENE SOFTBALL: The Crusaders' offense came alive in the second game of a doubleheader as NNU (5-8) defeated Eastern Oregon 10-3 in Nampa. Eastern Oregon won the first game 3-2 in eight innings.

NNU TRACK AND FIELD: Freshman Alison Silva (Nampa Christian High) won the women's pole vault with a mark of 12 feet, 10 inches at the Great Northwest Athletic Conference Indoor Championships on Friday in Nampa. Junior Caitlin Curtis won the women's weight throw (50-10). The NNU women lead the team race, and the men are sixth heading into Saturday's final day of competition at Jacksons Indoor Track.
