Kuna High School’s Boone Bartlome broke his neck in a football state playoff game Nov. 8. He has spent the last three months at Denver’s Craig Hospital, which specializes in rehabilitation for patients with spinal cord and traumatic brain injuries.

Now Boone is coming home and Kuna is having a celebration. Officials are asking anyone who wants to welcome Boone and his family home to be at the school by 3 p.m. Thursday.

“He’s still got a long way to go,” Kuna High coach Lee Leslie said. But Boone can move his arms, and he was able to move a walker by himself while at Craig.

“I’m elated to get him home,” Leslie said.
