Hill shoots Idaho men's basketball team to a victory

February 19, 2014

MOSCOW — Memorial Gym was equipped with a new set of baskets since the last time Idaho played a game there.

Connor Hill approves of the upgrade.

The junior from Post Falls knocked down eight 3-pointers, one shy of a school record, as the Vandals topped Cal State Northridge 96-88 in nonconference play Tuesday night.

“These new rims up here are not bad,” Hill said. “They’re not bad at all. I like them.”

The Vandals played arguably their most complete offensive game of the season and fended off a late surge from the Matadors (13-15) to improve to 11-16.

Idaho is 3-0 in Memorial Gym this year and will play its home finale in the facility as well.

That game is Saturday at 2 p.m. against Grand Canyon, and will be Senior Day for Stephen Madison, Joe Kammerer and Glen Dean.
