Boise police negotiate to get man to leave house

February 17, 2014

As of 11 p.m. Monday, Boise police were continuing negotiations with a man who refused to come out of a home on the 4700 block of North Jullion near McMillan in West Boise.

Witnesses called in to dispatch earlier in the evening asking for officers to check on the man and another individual inside and expressing concerned for their welfare, BPD spokeswoman Lynn Hightower said. About 9:15 p.m., Hightower reported that officers had "confirmed there is concern for the welfare of the two individuals inside the house" but did not say what about the situation confirmed that concern.

"As always, officers want to take it slow and try to end the situation peacefully," Hightower said,

No homes have been evacuated, she said, but adjacent homes were affected because police have closed the street in front of the house to traffic.

No further details were available late Monday.
