Idaho’s Madison has big night, but Vandal men’s basketball team falls by 1


OREM, Utah — Idaho’s Stephen Madison had 42 points on 16-of-21 shooting, but host Utah Valley beat Idaho 89-88 on Saturday night.

The Wolverines (15-9, 9-2 WAC) handed the Vandals (10-16, 4-8) their fourth one-point loss of the season. Madison passed Kyle Barone for fourth on Idaho’s career scoring list.

Idaho St. 75, Southern Utah 65: In Cedar City, Utah, Chris Hansen scored 22 points, and the Bengals (9-13, 6-7 Big Sky) handed the Thunderbirds (1-22, 0-14) their 22nd straight loss.
