Idaho colleges roundup: College of Idaho men nail down share of conference basketball title

EUGENE, Ore. - Antonio Garrett tipped home the game-winning basket with less than 1 second remaining to help the College of Idaho defeat Northwest Christian 74-72. The No. 6-ranked Coyotes clinched a share of their first Cascade Conference title since 2004. Demetrius Perkins led the C of I (22-5, 13-2) with 16 points.

BOISE STATE SOFTBALL: The Broncos won their first game at the Easton Desert Classic as they defeated Chattanooga 2-1 in Las Vegas. Boise State (2-5) dropped the second game against Cal State Northridge 12-2 in five innings.

C Of I WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: The Coyotes outlasted Northwest Christian 81-68 in Eugene, Ore. Chakala Carthen recorded her 15th double-double (24 points, 15 rebounds) for the C of I (13-10, 10-5 CCC).

C of I track: Sora Klopfenstein clocked the top 5,000-meter time in the NAIA this season at the Husky Classic in Seattle. Klopfenstein's time of 17:27 broke the school record of 18:20 set by Shannon Edwards in 2006.

C OF I BASEBALL: The Coyotes' four-game winning streak was snapped with a pair of losses in Portland. George Fox defeated the C of I 12-3, and Concordia beat the Coyotes 7-3. The C of I dropped to 4-2.

NORTHWEST NAZARENE BASEBALL: The Crusaders (1-7) earned their first win of the season in the nightcap of a doubleheader against Cal State Dominguez Hills in Carson, Calif. After losing the first game 3-2, NNU won the second 7-3.
