Third Republican joins the fray for Idaho superintendent of public instruction

February 12, 2014

An educator from Mountain Home with 17 years experience as a teacher, principal and curriculum director is the third person to enter the Republican race for superintendent of public instruction.

Sherri Ybarra says she has experience helping schools find resources to provide education for students.

“Education is my focus and passion, proven through my dedication and experience in the profession,” Ybarra said.

She has a three-point campaign: Giving students 21st-century abilities, not over-testing them and increasing safety and support.

She joins American Falls principal Randy Jensen and John Eynon, a music teacher at Cottonwood School District and an opponent of Idaho Core Standards, in the Republican primary set for May.
