Boise State professor, Boise School Board member to make second run for Legislature

February 10, 2014

Boise State professor and Boise School Board member Troy Rohn is running to replace Democratic Rep. Holli Woodings, who is leaving her District 19 seat to run for secretary of state.

Rohn carried 35 percent of the vote in a three-way Democratic primary in 2012, which was won by Rep. Mat Erpelding with 48 percent. District 19 includes Boise's Downtown, North End and East End neighborhoods.

Rohn, who researches Alzheimer's disease, says his top issue will be education. He is married with two children.

“After two decades, GOP policy failures to create strong schools are threatening Idaho’s economic future," he said in a news release late Sunday. "Idaho needs legislators who understand education from the bottom up and who view a strong educational system as an investment not a cost."
