Idaho colleges roundup: Boise State men's tennis tops Utah

BSU MEN’S TENNIS: The Broncos beat Utah 5-2 in Salt Lake City. BSU (5-2) received singles wins from Andy Bettles, Nathan Sereke, Thomas Tenreiro and Toby Mitchell.

BSU SOFTBALL: The Broncos defeated Utah 6-1 before losing to Creighton 4-0 at the season-opening Kajikawa Classic in Tempe, Ariz.

COLLEGE OF IDAHO WOMEN’S BASKETBALL: Sienna Edmunson made a pair of free throws with one minute remaining to break a tie, and the Coyotes knocked off No. 17 Eastern Oregon 67-64 in Caldwell. Erica Martinez had 21 points and Chakala Carthen recorded 19 points and 16 rebounds for the C of I (12-10, 9-5 Cascade).

C OF I MEN’S BASKETBALL: The No. 8 Coyotes earned their eighth straight win, beating Eastern Oregon 67-54 in Caldwell. Antonio Garrett led the C of I (21-5, 12-2 CCC) with 15 points.

C OF I SOFTBALL: Biola edged the Coyotes 1-0 in their season opener at the Big League Dreams Invitational in Redding, Calif.

C OF I SWIMMING: The Coyotes swept Soka University in Aliso Viejo, Calif. The women won 149-85 and the men 88-76.

NORTHWEST NAZARENE BASEBALL: The Crusaders lost to Hawaii Pacific 4-3 (10 innings) in the first game of a doubleheader in Honolulu.

NNU SOFTBALL: The Crusaders lost Colorado-Colorado Springs 4-3 before beating University of Mary 11-9 at the Desert Stinger Classic in Las Vegas.
