Four-car crash injures two on I-84 in Meridian

February 5, 2014

Two men were injured in a four-car collision on Interstate 84 near the Locust Grove overpass in Meridian Wednesday afternoon, Idaho State Police report.

Kenneth Jerome, 63, of Meridian was traveling east in a 1994 Geo Metro about 2:30 p.m. when he slowed down due to traffic, ISP reports. But Hawke Wheelock, 18, of Meridian failed to slow with the traffic and his 1994 Dodge Dakota struck the rear of Jerome's car, which drifted and bumped into a 2014 Ford F350 driven by Leilani Draper, 35, of Melba. Wheelock's vehicle was then struck from behind by Jeremy Andrew, 31, of Kuna, who was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt.

Jerome and Andrew were transported by ground ambulance to St. Luke's Medical Center in Meridian. All drivers were wearing their seat belts. The crash is under investigation by Idaho State Police.
