Stampede's Jackson sets D-League record with 58 points (w/video)

Pierre Jackson, rated #1 on the NBA D-League's "Prospect Watch" list scored a D-League record 58 points in the Idaho Stampede's 136-122 win over the Texas Legends tonight. Jackson shot an efficient 24-33 from the field including 7-13 from 3pt range. The 58 points by Jackson broke the previous record which was held by Morris Almond who scored 53 points in 2008 and Will Conroy who scored 53 points in 2009. PJ Hairston finished with 25 points for the Legends in defeat. The NBA Development League, the NBA's official minor league, is now on YouTube, showing over 350 live games on the NBA D-League YouTube Channel and Fans can get a glimpse at the players, coaches and officials competing to ascend to the NBA's ranks. More than 40% of players drafted into the NBA since 2005 have played in the NBA D-League. Ten former NBA players are in the NBA D-League coaching ranks this season. BOISE — Idaho Stampede point guard Pierre Jackson scored 58 points to lead the Stampede past the Texas Legends 136-122 at CenturyLink Arena on Tuesday night. It is the most points scored ever in an NBA Development League game.

Jackson made 24-of-33 field-goal attempts, including 7-of-13 from 3-point range, and added three free throws on four attempts. He also had eight assists and six rebounds.

The previous scoring record of 53 points was set by Morris Almond in 2008 and matched by Will Conroy in 2009.

It was Jackson’s seventh game this season with 40 or more points. He is averaging a league-best 30.2 points a game.

Teammate Kevin Murphy had 39 points for Idaho, which now hits the road for four straight games.
