Local sports roundup: Steelheads begin six-game homestand

BOISE — Idaho will host Utah at 7:10 at CenturyLink Arena. The Steelheads had a nine-point cushion over the Grizzlies in the ECHL Mountain Division standings a month ago, but Utah has clawed into a tie with Idaho. Both hockey teams have 47 points. Idaho is 4-5-1 in its past 10 games, and Utah is 8-1-1.

NORTHWEST NAZARENE MEN’S SOCCER: Erik Anderson (Boise High) has transfered from Wright State and will play for the Crusaders next season.

NNU SOFTBALL: The Crusaders (1-1) split with Menlo College in Atherton, Calif., losing 11-2 and winning 11-7.
