Steelheads get a victory before leaving Alaska

ANCHORAGE, Alaska — Idaho defeated the Aces 4-2 late Saturday night. Rookie Johnny McGuire’s first professional goal proved to be the game-winner. Damon Kipp, Tommy Grant and Rob Linsmayer scored Idaho’s other goals, and goaltender Pat Nagle got his team-leading 12th win after stopping 33-of-35 shots. The Steelheads went 1-1-1 in their three-game series against the division-leading Aces. They host Utah at 7:10 p.m. Wednesday.
