Bronco women stretch streak to six

BOISE — The Boise State women’s basketball team rolled past UNLV 79-49 on Saturday at Taco Bell Arena for its sixth straight Mountain West victory.

The win was the Broncos’ first over UNLV since joining the league in 2011-12. The two teams entered the game tied for second place in the standings.

BSU (12-8, 7-2) used a 19-3 first-half run to break open the contest. The Broncos led 42-19 at halftime. Deanna Weaver led five Broncos in double figure with 16 points. Kenna McDavis chipped in 15 points and a game-high eight rebounds, while Miquelle Askew recorded her 18th game with double-digit points, scoring 12.
