Meridian State of the City address Feb. 5

Meridian Mayor Tammy de Weerd will give her 11th annual State of City address on Wednesday, Feb. 5.

The event begins at 3:59 p.m. at Meridian Middle School, 1507 W. 8th St.

During the event de Weerd will highlight city and community accomplishments in 2013 and preview upcoming projects.

The mayor also will present the Legacy Award to a member of the community who has demonstrated a long-time commitment to Meridian by building a legacy for future generations.

The event, presented by The Village at Meridian, will conclude with the Taste of Meridian reception immediately following the address. The reception includes a sampling of food from nine Meridian restaurants including Jakers, Famous Dave’s, Sa-Wad-Dee, Rick’s Press Room, Kneaders, Carino’s Italian Grill, Chick-fil-A, Edible Arrangements and Idaho Pizza Company.

Tickets for the event and reception cost $10 and may be purchased online online or in person at the Mayor’s Office on the third floor of Meridian City Hall, 33 E. Broadway Ave.
