The Detroit Lions announced the hiring of former Boise State assistant Robert Prince as their new receivers coach Saturday.
With the Lions, Prince will coach the NFLs top receiver, Calvin Johnson, who had 84 catches for 1,492 yards and 12 touchdowns in 14 games last season.
Prince has prior experience in the NFL as an assistant with the Atlanta Falcons (2004-06), Jacksonville Jaguars (2007-08) and Seattle Seahawks (2009).
He was Boise States receivers coach from 2001-03, and rejoined the staff in 2011 as receivers coach.
He was promoted to offensive coordinator prior to the 2012 season and served in that role for two seasons with the Broncos.
