COEUR D'ALENE - Returning starting quarterback Chad Chalich will have a fellow Coeur d'Alene Viking join him at the position this fall. Gunnar Amos verbally committed to the Vandals over the weekend, he said on his Twitter account. National signing day is Feb. 5. Amos threw for 2,284 yards with 19 touchdowns and nine interceptions, plus ran for 10 more touchdowns before breaking his ankle Nov. 5. The Vikings went on to win the 5A state title. The Vandals have three quarterbacks on their roster - Chalich, a sophomore, along with senior Josh McCain and redshirt freshman Matt Linehan. Idaho also has a reported commitment from Marysville (Wash.) High quarterback Jake Luton.
