Marks the hero again as Boise State defeats Utah State, 78-74

Junior Derrick Marks scored 19 points for Boise State, including 13 in the last 7:35, to defeat Utah State. Marks blocked a layup by the Aggies' Marcel Davis with less than 30 seconds to play, and scored the game-winner with 23.6 seconds to go. After trailing 74-70, the Broncos closed on an 8-0 run.

Halftime notes: Boise State fell cold at the end of the first half, failing to score in the final 3:38 after leading 34-22, and allowing Utah State to go on a 9-0 run. The Broncos had seven 3-pointers, including three from freshman Nick Duncan, who led with nine points at the break.

Pre-game notes: Boise State will look to put together a two-game winning streak Saturday after winning 74-65 at Nevada on Tuesday. The Broncos host Utah State at 7 p.m. on Saturday in a matchup of two strong outside shooting teams. The Aggies are No. 1 in the Mountain West, making 42.0 percent of their 3-point attempts, while the Broncos make 38.0 percent of their 3s. Utah State is also tops in the conference in rebounding margin at plus-10.3 per game.

Boise State junior guard Igor Hadziomerovic did not start for the first time this season. He was replaced in the starting lineup by senior Thomas Bropleh.
