Pocatello High junior earns cross country honor

POCATELLO — Elijah Armstrong was chosen for the second year in a row as the Gatorade Idaho Boys Cross Country Runner of the Year on Thursday. The 5-foot-10, 125-pound junior raced to his second straight 4A individual state title this past season in a time of 15 minutes, 41.08 seconds, leading the Indians to a team championship. Armstrong placed third at the Foot Locker West Regional championships in 15:53 and sixth at the national Foot Locker Cross Country Championships, earning All-American honors with a time of 15:22.
