Letter: Snowden

January 17, 2014

Edward Snowden should be coming home to a ticker-tape parade and James Clapper should be facing jail time for lying to Congress. Michael Hayden doesn't seem to be that honest and straightforward, either, and probably ought to be further interrogated.

It seems our government has gone totally backwards from the way it should have following the Church Commission hearings. It's like they considered that a defeat instead of a learning moment in history. Since then they've shored up their defenses trying to make sure they aren't defeated again by a clever enemy - apparently they consider that enemy the American people.

It's frightening that what we're apparently facing is drones hovering over all of us, unless we, the people, can rein these lunatics in.
