Pepper brings the beach party

January 17, 2014

  • 8:30 p.m. Jan. 21, Knitting Factory, 416 S. 9th St., Boise. $18. TicketWeb. Opening: Lionize.

With roots in Hawaii and an irresistible, island-vibe party sound, veteran rock trio Pepper has always had good-times appeal. There’s no arguing that Pepper has been influenced heavily by Sublime. But it’s tough to be too critical when Pepper’s combination of reggae, ska, rock and punk creates a blissful mix — like a perfectly blended margarita — and the dance floor suddenly seems like blinding-white sand and endless blue sky.
