Idaho Statesman photographer Darin Oswald took the photos on this page and on pages 44, 47, 50 and 52 as part of his chronicle of the construction of the Gardner Co.'s Eighth & Main building since its July 2012 groundbreaking. The 18-story building will be Idaho's tallest. With a parapet at the top, Eighth & Main is taller than the U.S. Bank Plaza across Main Street and the Boise Airport's air-traffic control tower. The first and second floors are for retail. The top bears the name of Zions Bank, which financed the building and is its anchor tenant. A grand opening is planned for Saturday, Feb. 15.
