The 49-year-old motorist was cited for failure to yield on a left turn, and that citation comes with a $90 fine.

The motorist was traveling south on Milwaukee Street and turning east on Ustick Road. He was proceeding on a flashing yellow light, which meant that he was to proceed with caution.

The teen was walking south across Ustick Road on a white hand signal. He had the right-of-way.

Investigators determined the vehicle was traveling about 15 mph when it struck the teen. The boy's injuries were not life-threatening, police said.
