Northwest Ada Little league: Registration and player verification dates from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Jan. 15 and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Feb. 1 at Lowell Scott Middle School. Boys and girls ages 5-15 who live within the Northwest Ada Little League boundaries (see website) are eligible to play baseball and softball. At least one parent or legal guardian must be present, with proof of residence and an original or state-certified copy of the child’s birth certificate. Idaho Senior Softball Association: Taking reservations for its men’s wooden bat league. All skill levels are welcome. Anyone born before 1955 (60 and older) is eligible; no one will be turned away. Play in the Monday night or Wednesday night league or both. Cost is $40 for each league. The Tuesday morning league is $20. The draft will be April 1 and league play begins around April 21. YMCA Team Idaho Winter Track Conditioning: Practices from 3:45 to 5 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at the Downtown YMCA; and from 4 to 5:15 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays at the West YMCA. Boise Parks & Recreation’s power, competitive and recreational leagues: Sign up from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Jan. 20-24 at the city rec office. Teams play one night per week Mondays-Fridays starting Feb. 4 and continue through May at Fort Boise Community Center and Boise area schools. Play eight league games with a single-elimination tournament. Fees are $247 per team, plus a $20 USSSA team sanction fee (teams registered in fall 2013 do not have to pay the USSSA fee for spring season), and $14 per non-resident. Go to or call 608-7650.
