A traffic infraction early Sunday morning led to the arrest of a Meridian woman, who was charged with felony grand theft for failing to return a vehicle that she rented, according to Caldwell Sgt. Joey Hoadley.

Police pulled over a 2013 GMC Yukon in the area of 10th and Cleveland streets just after 4 a.m. After running the SUV's plates, the officer learned the vehicle was reported stolen on Dec. 23.

Both people in the vehicle were arrested: the driver, Tina Saucedo, a 47-year-old Meridian woman, and passenger Tyler J. Lewis, a 24-year-old Greenleaf man.

Saucedo was charged with felony grand theft, felony possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Lewis, who was wanted on a felony arrest warrant, was also charged felony possession of methamphetamine, false impersonation and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The vehicle, valued at $40,000, was returned to the car rental company.
