Two overtimes — one Idaho Stampede win

Stampede improve to 4-0 at home

Kabongo was playing in his third game with Idaho after an injury sidelined EJ Singler, and he made the most of his opportunity. Kabongo, who played two seasons at New Mexico State, had 19 points, eight rebounds and five assists in Friday’s victory.

Idaho and Texas entered Friday’s contest with identical 8-3 records. The two NBA Development League teams then showed how evenly matched they were, as they went to two overtimes before the Stampede prevailed with a 129-126 victory.

The game featured 23 lead changes and 11 ties.

It was the first contest at CenturyLink Arena for Idaho since Nov. 30. Since then, Idaho played eight consecutive road games.

Guard Pierre Jackson, the league’s top scorer, led Idaho with 41 points, and Richard Howell contributed a double-double (12 points, 16 rebounds).

Mickey McConnell had 31 points to lead the Legends, who will play the Stampede again Saturday at CenturyLink Arena. The game tips off at 7 p.m.
