USAIRBAG SETS UP AT BOGUS BASIN THIS WEEKEND Skiers and boarders can catch big and have a soft landing with USAirbag at Bogus Basin, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Dec. 27 – 28, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Dec. 29. Three jumps cost $10 and 10 jumps go for $25. The 60-by-60-foot inflatable landing pad will be at the lower bowl off the Deer Point Quad so spectators can see it from the lower lodge. A separate fee is required to jump on the air bag, and tickets can be bought at Bogus Basin, or at usairbag.com/shop. There are no age restrictions for jumpers, but they must be a minimum of 48 inches tall. All riders must sign a waiver, and those under age 18 must have a parent’s permission and signature to jump on the air bag. All jumpers must wear a helmet.

SOME BIRD-HUNTING SEASONS ARE CLOSING The following hunting seasons in Idaho are winding down soon:Æ Pheasants open through Dec. 31 in North and Southwest Idaho.Æ Forest grouse, which includes ruffed, spruce and dusky (blue) grouse, open through Dec. 31 in most of Idaho.Æ California and bobwhite quail open through Jan. 31 in North and Southwest Idaho. Æ Chukar and gray partridge open through Jan. 31.Æ Duck and Canada goose seasons in Southwest Idaho open through Jan. 24.

SNOWSHOEING BASICS CLASS JAN. 8 Space is still left for a free snowshoeing basics class at 7 p.m., at the Boise REI store, 8300 W. Emerald St. Call 322-1141 or go to rei.com/stores/boise for registration. The class will cover snowshoeing gear and places to get started.
