Canyon County Pet of the Week: Tamale the collie, pitbull mix

December 24, 2013

Tamale, 2, is a black and white border collie American pitbull terrier mix.

This boy knows sit, stay, shake and has the potential to learn much more. With two intelligent mixes in his breed, he will need a home that can provide an outlet for him both physically and mentally. Puzzle toys and long hikes through the foothills are at the top of his resume.

Tamale is also great with other dogs his size. Cats are unknown. Tamale is neutered, microchipped and current on all vaccines.

Tamale is in kennel number 4 at the Canyon County Animal Shelter at 5801 Graye Lane in Caldwell. The hours of operation are Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. For more information on our other adoptable pets, please visit our website at
