Idaho, Idaho State hoops teams play Friday in Boise

STATESMAN STAFFDecember 20, 2013

BOISE — The Vandals and Bengals men’s basketball teams will meet for the 102nd time. The teams tip off at 7 p.m. at CenturyLink Arena for a nonconference matchup that will continue in the future as a Big Sky Conference game — Idaho, currently in the WAC, rejoins the Big Sky next season.

Idaho (5-6) owns a 61-40 all-time edge in the series, winning 75-69 in the last matchup Feb. 23, ending a five-game Idaho State winning streak. Which team controls the ball best may have the upper hand — the Bengals (3-4) are No. 5 in the nation, creating 10.6 steals per game, while the Vandals’ 10.5 turnovers allowed per game are 35th-fewest nationally.
