A monster of a concert at Centennial High School

Statesman staffDecember 20, 2013

It’s not something you’ll see every day: 10 pianos on stage, all playing together under the direction of a conductor.

It’s the Tuesday Musicale’s “Monster Concert.” The monster concert idea harkens back to Louis Moreau Gottschalk, who coined the term in 1860.

This performance is a fundraiser for Tuesday Musicale’s scholarship fund, which has given thousands of dollars in educational support to young Treasure Valley musicians since it was founded in 1915.

7 to 9 p.m. Dec. 21, Centennial High School, 12400 W. McMillan Road, Boise. $6 per person or $20 per family at the door. boisetuesdaymusicale.com/monster-concert.
