Idaho colleges roundup: Boise State track and field team off to a strong start

NAMPA — The Broncos won eight events at the season-opening Jacksons Open and Multis at the Jacksons Indoor Track at the Idaho Center on Friday. Allison Jeffries (pole vault, 12 feet, 5.50 inches), Megan Kelley (400 meters, 57.40 seconds), Mackenzie Flannigan (300 meters, 40.14), Lacie Rasley (shot put, 44-6.75) and the 4x400-meter relay team (4:04.57) earned wins on the women’s side. For the men, Jordin Andrade (400, 48.75), Matt Post (weight throw, 58-1) and Ryan Sanders (triple jump, 49-8.50) captured victories.

• Northwest Nazarene runner Natalie Evans won the women’s mile in 5:04.39. The Crusaders also got victories from Michael Gordon (mile, 4:37.69) and Andrew Curtis (300, 34.90), and set three school records: Rimar Christie (60, 6.90), Alison Silva (pole vault, 11-5.75) and Cole Hoberg (high jump, 6-4.75).
