Economic aide leaves Boise mayor's office

December 12, 2013

Cece Gassner said she'll start her new job Jan. 2 at the law firm Perkins Coie.

Gassner, 42, has worked in Boise Mayor David Bieter's office since June 2008. Friday is her last day.

Before taking a job with the city, she said, she practiced law for 11 years in Boise, California and New York. At Perkins Coie, she'll focus on technology transactions, such as software licensing, and information security. She said she studied engineering as an undergraduate, so the technology emphasis in her new job will suit her.

Gassner said opportunity, not dissatisfaction with her current job, prompted her decision.

"I got an offer I couldn't refuse," she said.
