Nampa School District plans levy next year

IDAHO STATESMAN STAFFDecember 11, 2013

NAMPA - The district will seek a supplemental levy to replace a $1.6 million levy that ends in June.

Trustees didn't set an amount or an election date Tuesday. District officials' initial priorities could cost up to $2.8 million. A $2.8 million levy would cost homeowners about $85 a year, up from $50, on a home with a taxable value of $100,000.

A key goal for district officials is to restore teacher contact time with students that was lost as the district hit financial problems in the past year.

Trustees are planning meetings to hear from residents.
