Caldwell man killed in early morning crash

December 10, 2013

— Robert Penner, 45, died after a 1 a.m. Tuesday wreck near Montana Avenue and Hazel Street in Caldwell.

Idaho State Police say Penner was headed north when his Chevrolet Equinox drifted off the right side of the road. The man’s vehicle slammed into a retaining wall and a parked, unoccupied Cadillac DeVille.

Penner, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was taken by ambulance to West Valley Medical Center in Caldwell, where he died of his injuries. Penner’s next of kin have been notified, police say.

The crash remains under investigation.
