Police: Nampa man threw chair through window in downtown Boise

December 10, 2013

— A Nampa man could face prison time after police say he drunkenly flung a chair through a restaurant’s plate glass window Saturday morning.

Boise Police officers were on foot patrol in downtown Boise when they heard a loud crash just after 2:30 a.m. Employees at a restaurant in the 500 block of West Main Street told police that a man who appeared very intoxicated had just thrown a chair through the restaurant’s large window.

Officers spotted Jose Armando Chavez, 28, running away from the restaurant, and they had to chase him down before arresting him. Chavez was booked into the Ada County Jail and charged with felony malicious injury to property.

If convicted, Chavez could face one to five years in prison.
