PORTLAND — Senior Sam McKinnon, an Oregon State commit, ran to a 22nd-place finish at the Nike Cross Nationals high school cross country meet Saturday at Portland Meadows. McKinnon crossed the finish in 18 minutes, .01 seconds. Alexa Efraimson of Camas High (Wash.) won the race in 16:50.1. Mountain View coach Tracy Harris said McKinnon’s finish is the best ever for an Idaho girl. Timberline’s Andrew Rafla also qualified, but did not race because of an injury.
