Idaho colleges roundup: Hawaii tops Idaho State in NCAA Tournament

HONOLULU — The Bengals’ volleyball team lost to the No. 11 Rainbow Wahine 25-16, 19-25, 25-12, 25-13 late Friday night in the first round. Tressa Lyman led ISU (23-12) with 13 kills, Hayley Farrer chipped in 10 digs and Lori Mendenhall-Lee put up 31 assists.

BOISE STATE WRESTLING: The Broncos placed three wrestlers at the Cliff Keen Invitational in Las Vegas, finishing 11th as a team. Heavyweight J.T. Felix finished second, 197-pounder Cody Dixon took third and Jake Swartz (184) placed sixth.

COLLEGE OF IDAHO WOMEN’S BASKETBALL: The Coyotes beat Evergreen 62-59 in Olympia, Wash. Erica Martinez scored 23 points for the C of I (3-5, 0-1 Cascade).

C OF I MEN’S BASKETBALL: Josh Wilson had a triple-double (13 points, 11 assists, 10 rebounds), and the No. 20 Coyotes (10-4, 1-1 CCC) beat Evergreen 115-78 in Olympia, Wash.

NORTHWEST NAZARENE MEN’S BASKETBALL: The Crusaders outlasted Montana State-Billings 63-61 on the road. Matyas Hering had 20 points for NNU (2-6 overall, 1-1 GNAC).

IDAHO WOMEN’S BASKETBALL: The Vandals (6-4) defeated Appalachian State 83-60 at the Lady Griz Classic in Missoula, Mont., one day after falling to tournament host Montana 59-56.

ISU WOMEN’S BASKETBALL: No. 25 Iowa beat the Bengals 95-47 in Iowa City. Becca Schrimsher scored 11 points to lead ISU (2-6).
