July attack leads to felony charge for Boise man

November 29, 2013

— Steven C. Pierce was arrested Thanksgiving Day for an incident that occurred more than four months earlier, police say.

He is charged with felony aggravated assault stemming from a July 7 incident. Police say Pierce got into an argument with another man in a North Boise home. Witnesses told police he struck the man several times in the head, injuring his face and jaw.

Several other people at the home had to physically pull Pierce off the victim, witnesses said. Police say Pierce and the other man did not know each other well, and alcohol was a factor in the attack.

Information on the incident was forwarded to the Ada County Prosecutor’s Office. Prosecutors issued a warrant for Pierce’s arrest Tuesday.

Pierce, who could face up to 15 years in prison if convicted, posted a $100,000 bond and was released Friday. He is scheduled for arraignment Tuesday.
