Police: Drunken driver was going wrong way on interstate

November 27, 2013

— A Nampa woman has been charged with DUI after police say she drove the wrong way on Interstate 84 early Wednesday morning.

Dispatchers received multiple calls at about 1 a.m. Wednesday from drivers reporting a white car driving west in the interstate's eastbound lanes.

Officers located the driver still traveling in the wrong direction near milepost 33. The driver, 23-year-old Paige L. Austin, failed several field sobriety tests and had a blood alcohol content of more than twice the legal limit, police say.

Austin was arrested and charged with misdemeanor DUI. She was booked into Canyon County Jail.
