Beware Nampa-based shopping website scam

Boise - The Idaho StatesmanNovember 26, 2013

Internet shoppers should steer clear of the shopping website, overstockclearancemart.com, warns Robb Hicken, chief storyteller of the Better Business Bureau serving the Snake River Region.

The website claims the company ships from Nampa but doesn't give a street address, have a business license with Nampa and is not registered with the Idaho Secretary of State.

The website sells a variety of furniture, outboard motors, playsets and swings, tools and other items ranging from hundreds to thousands of dollars.

The website accepts only GreenDot cards as payment, which act as cash and can't be reimbursed.

"Do not do business with this website," Hicken said in a release.

The website carries Better Business Bureau insignia and claims an A+ rating but is not BBB accredited, Hicken said.
